Sebagai pengawas, belajarlah mcm mane nk tegur pelajar yg berlainan umur. Jgn la lari dr duty point. Ambil sebagai cabaran. Kita x akan berhenti belajar kan?
Kita pon dpt bergaul rapat dgn cikgu2 dan pegawai atasan. mereka jgk akan knl kite kan.

UNITY PROGRAMME

Although I didn't get to attend this year's unity programme, I heard from others that it was fun. The organisers did a great job by putting together such a memorable event though some of us couldn't make it. We truly appreciate their dedication and effort even though sometimes we act like we don't care so thank you! Therefore I hope that the objective of the programme is achieved that is to make us united not divided. Pictures from the programme will be out soon so wait for the next update!

Just last week, some of us joined the prefect's marching squad which consist mainly of probates from Lower 6 and a mixture of other forms. Thanks to their determination and hard work, our prefect squad did a wonderful job.
Probation for the new Form 6 prefects have just started. Probation period for them is roughly until after our MPP which is in August. Hope they are able to cope and contribute to the prefectorial board :)
STAR recently joined a competition. 10 officers will come to the school next week to make assessments from the school's cleanliness to discipline. Prefects were asked to keep up our overall performance and not make any mistakes. Good luck!

Yes, you guess right. It is finally time to go back to school after two weeks of running around (maybe naked?) at home. After two boring weeks at home, we finally get to have fun in school... (Yeah!)...
Ah, school... I'm so happy that I get to wake up early in the morning and go to school to continue my secret dream of becoming a decent prefect which I decided to keep a secret because it is after all a secret dream ;)
Before anyone starts thinking about something else that has a bad effect on his or her performance as a prefect, let's try refreshing your memory:
Did anyone force me to become a prefect?
(If you answered yes then you are clearly a fool)
Was I chosen as a prefect for a reason?
(If you answered no then you are obviously in the wrong place)
Therefore dig deep into your conscious mind and retrieve the dusty old file where you keep all the motivation and determination you once had when just starting out as a cute little probate (LOL)
Important tip:
Don't be fooled by other people whose only goal in life is to stop others from being the best that they can. If someone is telling you that being a prefect is just like being a dog then please give him or her an imaginary (violence is prohibited but in your mind, you are the boss) slap for me because nobody can look down on prefects and what they do. ONLY YOU know how tough it is to be a prefect and what is the right thing to do and ONLY YOU can do it right.
By now, you should know which thing I'm talking about (no, not running around naked. That is senseless unless you're hot) Thus, do your duty as a prefect properly and feel proud of yourself.
Note: If you have been receiving lots of complaints recently or since you started being a prefect, you might want to try changing a little. There won't be a complaint if nothing is wrong so try asking for a friend's opinion on what you should change to be a better prefect.
PS: Remember to hand in your current ( if you have it) results slip for your current exam or any exam before that!

Hi, it's been a while since I posted something, so here is the update. All prefects are required to hand in their 1st monthly test result to Wei Han to be reviewed by teacher by the end of this week.
Basically, we were asked to give all our exam results for this year so everyone should know what to do in order to stay out of trouble (study smart not hard ;) ) and keep up the good work.
Besides that, there is a new addition to our daily attire- a small plastic bag- to keep our pen and notepad.
That is all so far, if I miss anything out, please feel free to comment on it.
PS: To a certain someone, I have other things to do at home but I'll try my best to update this blog so thanks for the comment and unnecessary info...

Exciting news! We get to have our own logo and we get to be involved in the process of making the logo! So aspiring artists(prefect), please submit your drawings by Monday. Being creative isn't necessary as long as you have heart so we will just have to wait and see whose design will be picked. Till then, any current prefect can come out with their own designs :) Photography session for prefects will have to wait till later (around June or July, I think..) because we need to wait for the new batch of Form 6 prefects so all we need to do now is wait. A lot of waiting but everything will be worthwhile if we are patient ;)

CAMP 2011

First and foremost, most of the current prefects, form 2 to 6, have joined a camp recently in Ulu Bendul, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan for 3 days and 2 nights. The trip started on Friday, after school and ends on Sunday. All of us got to camp in a real forest, between real trees that sheltered us from the rain. Needless to say, some of us weren't really excited about the prospect of living like wild animals. (THE HORROR!)
However, the whole camp turned out to be quite fun though some suffered from injuries and illnesses after the first night. Still, everyone had fun and there were lots of spirit among us, what with the constant clapping and shouting...
The winner for best female participant was Girrja while best male participant was Lee Hsiang, thanks to their hard work of taking care of every prefect in the camp as head of girls and head of boys respectively. Best group goes to Group 5 a.k.a Tun Perak.
In the end we managed to thank everyone including the teachers and facilitators involved by saluting them which was a nice way to end the camp. We even received a nice black book each as souvenirs.

Today was the final day for two dedicated teachers of S.M.K.T.A.R , Encik Rasul and Puan Maizurah. Even though we will miss them, we still wish them the best.

Wow, looks like some people actually took their time to comment on the prefectorial board.
Hey at least there's some lively interaction between us, right? Rather than being just another boring blog about prefects, we are getting hate mails too. How cool is that?

Back to business, as the current prefects should know by now, camp is around the corner. Therefore, payment of fees should be settled by this week (refer to the date of this posting). RM70 for each prefects.
Permission form should be submitted to:

FORM 5- Girrja
FORM 6- not so sure so pass it to Yang Yang

Hello there :) So last week, each prefect was given a piece of paper. An important paper which we must keep by our side at all times or face demerit points. Yes, as anyone would have guessed by now, the paper is about a new demerit system.

In this system, there are rules about:

a) prefect's attire

b) attendance

c) behaviour

Every rule has a different demerit point if any of us breaks it. Each prefect is appointed with a maximum of 20 marks. Yes.. Only 20 because according to our Penolong Disiplin 2, prefects are supposed to be more disciplined..

Therefore, caution to all prefects, try not to lose parts of your attire.

You have been warned :)

PS: If you are wondering who is the fantastic Penolong Disiplin 2, you might want to check out the older post. I'll give you a hint, his name starts with the letter 'k' and he is in form 5..

Second Week of School

We will be joined by probates which consist mostly of previous prefects from the afternoon session and maybe see some new faces. As always, we were advised by our head prefect to perform well and be on our best behaviour to preserve our image not only in front of the juniors but at all times.

Some of the current prefects especially the seniors will be assigned with at least one junior so they can show the ropes and inner workings of the prefectorial board.

Therefore, to all seniors: Please be patient and respectful to the juniors.

To all juniors: Please listen and respect what your senior has to say even though some of you might be familiar with the job because you never know when they might surprise you!

A New Year, A New Start

Greetings prefects!

This is Clarissa, your ex-Penolong editor and current normal prefect writing. As you can see, I've revamped the whole blog. Take it as my Christmas present to the board as next year is going to be my last year being a STAR prefect.

I hope you like it. Especially the header; an image of our tie I managed (with some difficulty) to cut out of a picture I took and transfer onto a blank document using Photoshop. The background image was also created by me.

I need your help!

You see the tabs bar directly below the blog description? I've added a new page called 'Current and Previous Boards'. I'm also planning to add other pages. This is what I need you guys to do:

1. Email me the prefectorial motto, song, and ikrar.

2. Write an essay describing what being a STAR prefect is all about. (This is for the 'About' page I'll be adding later on so if you're writing this please write it well) Your essays will be subjected to editing; I might subtract, add, or even take change the whole thing altogether. PLEASE TRY YOUR HAND AT THIS. Email me after you're done.

3. Email me all of the 'Senarai Ahli Jawatankuasa' you have! It doesn't matter what year it is; I'm trying to collect all the lists so it can be viewed by future generations of prefects. Prefect's Camp 2010- First Day 14/3

I hope you guys won't kind me using manglish and smileys while updating on the prefects camp :)

But first of all, before I continue, let me assure you this camp was a HUGE success, special gratitude goes to all OC members for their herculan effort! I hope this 'prefectorial spirit' keeps growing stronger, allowing us to be the best we can be. Remember what Pn.Noorsia said during the Majlis Perpisahan? We prefects have an 'aura' that makes up special. Teppuuuuuuk Pengawas Star! xD

I must say everyone owes Shardha a "thank you" as well. Although she was not an AJK or anything, she brought her camera and allowed me to use it to snap pictures during the whole time the camp was going on. A big round of applause please! FYI, all the pictures will be uploaded into Facebook through my account. Add me if you haven't done so already. Search under 'Ching Siew Choo Clarissa'. I'm the only person that will pop up :)
The day started with Pendaftaran at the Dataran Perdana. We were all given a file and the Form3 prefects were *aherm* forced to introduce themselves on stage :P As usual, a joke was told before we sallied into the Dewan Makan Asrama (DMA).

At the DMA, we, the participants, were given somesort of a Ceramah. Which included the dividing of groups, rules and regulations by Jo-Shua, advice by Pn.Noorsia and the dividing of dorms.

We were given breakfast, then we went to our dorms to unpack our luggage. Unfair! the guys didn't have to walk so far.

Module 1: The signature game thing.

Module 2 ice breaking:

-Chicken dance

-The I-Don't-Know-What-It-Is-Called-Game where you had to make the other person laugh

Another game where you had to find your missing leader and the first team to complete the race would get Dominoes as a reward. Fawaz group won. Ouch that made our tummies rumble xD

Naptime!

We were than allowed go play three games; captain ball, football, and dodgeball. This was does not have anything to do with groups.

At night we had 'Night Walk'. No pictures on that though!

Seminar ini merupakan satu tradisi dalam Badan Pengawas Bersatu. Akan tetapi, tahun lepas kami tidak berjaya mengadakan seminar ini. Oleh itu, kami berharap besar agar dapat menganjurkan seminar ini untuk mengekalkan tradisi Badan Pengawas Bersatu.

Point System Revised 1

Each prefect will start off with 10 points and will be assigned to a group.
Each prefect will be assessed individually.
Each prefect points will add up to the team’s points.
Each prefect starts off with 10 points each week.
The team with the highest points at the end of each week will get to choose the team’s duty point for the next whole week.
The team with the lowest points at the end of each week will clean the Bilik Pengawas for the next entire week and have their team members auction off except the team leader.
The team with the highest average score at the end of each month will get to choose 1 week off duty for the following month.
The prefect who has the highest points at the end of the month shall get to choose 1 day off duty for the following month.
Each team member’s points will be used to replenish a member who has achieved negative points for the week.

Prefects who get <>
Probates who get <>
The third time a prefect or a new probate have been suspended, he/she shall be fired immediately from the board.
Prefects who becomes a probate will be not be suspended if any faults was committed but will be fired instead.

♦-1 will be given for NOT doing duty properly and satisfactorily
♦+5 will be given for solving a crisis that occurs.
♦-5 will be given for being unable to solve the crisis that occurs at any moment.
♦-2 will be given for being absent at prefect assembly but present in school
♦-2 will be given for being late to prefect assembly without a valid reason
♦-2 will be given for being late and still taking their time to go to the morning
assembly
♦+5 will be given for each member whose team has the highest average points each
week
♦-5 will be given for being suspended from duty for a particular reason (having the
lowest point is not counted)
♦-1 will be given for not doing duty (EVEN if being suspended or absent from school
without informing any of the examiners prior to the day)
♦+1 will be given for being present at morning assembly

Trading System Between Team Members

♦Only the winning team each week will be immune from the member trading system.
♦The winning team can choose to trade members if they want to.
♦The rest of the teams shall undergo a voting program.
♦The voting program will be held on the Monday at the following week.
♦The result of the weekly competition between each teams will be announced during
morning assembly on that day.
♦All prefects are required to prepare a piece of paper with a name on it by 7am on that
day regardless of whether they are the winning team or not.
♦That piece of paper will be collected and placed into the team leader’s box and is
handed to Choo Wei Tse once the result has been announced.
♦Only the winning team can keep their papers.
♦The paper may be empty – this shows your unwillingness to vote someone out of the
team.
♦Failure to provide a piece of paper shall result in a minus 5 points for each member
in the team for each paper missing.
♦ONLY the team leader is immune of being voted out.
♦DO NOT vote the team leader!
♦The losing team will have their entire member up for auction except the team leader.
Other teams that wants to acquire any of the losing team’s member may trade a
member of their team to acquire a member from the losing team.
♦The condition is that:
1. The member that was traded out will take out the points he/she is having from
the old team to the new team.
2. The member that was traded in will bring in 0 points to their new team.
Example:
Team A trades a member who has 60 points for a member of the losing team.
The member that was traded INTO the team shall being in 0 points to the team.
Member a bring 60 points out to the new team.
Means, Team A = -60 points and the new team = +60points.

♦Each prefect will start off with 0 points.
♦Each prefect will be assigned to a group.
♦Each group must have a leader and a group name.
♦The leader is responsible for the entire group.
Whatever information that is needed to be passed to the prefects will be through the
team leaders.
♦The leader will have the final say in any decision making of the group.
♦Each prefect will be assessed individually.
♦Each individual’s points will be added up together with the other team members.
The team with the highest average points at the end of each week will get:
1. To choose the team’s duty point for the next whole week
2. To receive a special present
♦The team with the lowest average points at the end of each week will:
1. Have to clean the Bilik Pengawas for the whole of next week.

♦ The team that LOST will have to clean the Bilik Pengawas.

The ones who will be cleaning the Bilik Pengawas will not be the NEW
Team A but the OLD team A which is a, b, c, d, and e.
♦The team with the highest average points at the end of each month will be able to
choose to take 1 week leave from duty the following month (any 1week – must
inform one of the 6 examiners by the 7th of the month)
♦No assessment will be carried out for the team but they must have the complete
attire and attend the morning assembly as usual.
♦They can receive (-) points but no (+) points.
♦The individual prefect who has the highest points at the end of the month shall:
1. Get to choose 1 day off duty
2. Get a special gift.
♦The individual prefect who has the lowest points at the end of the month shall be suspended for 1 day.
♦No prefect can have negative points.
♦Once a prefect has negative points, the points of the rest of the team members will
be minused in order to return that particular prefect’s points back to zero.
Example: Lets just say A has -10 points.
To return the points of A back to 0, each member of his/her team will lose
10 points.
♦Each prefect will start to be assessed starting from Monday (11/1/2010)
♦Each group will have their duty points arranged according to the following.
1. Assembly Area
2. Block
3. Miscellaneous
♦The assembly area is separated to 4 sections:
1. Upper six area
2. Form 5 area
3. Form 4 area
4. Form 3 area
♦One group will be taking care of each area.
♦The blocks:
1. Form 6 block- 2 prefects
2. Form 4 and Form 5 blocks- 3 prefects
3. Form 3 block- 2 prefects
♦Miscellaneous:
1. 2 prefects at the pondok in between the laboratory and bilik guru
2. 1 prefect at the place students park their bicycle
3. 1 prefect at the field
4. 1 prefect at gate 2
5. 1 prefect at gate 3

♦The groups will be placed by our Ketua Penyelaras Tugas.
♦The arrangement above is for morning assembly time ONLY.
♦Some groups have 8 prefects – the extra prefect will duty at the assembly area.
♦Group G is the only group that has their own duty areas for morning assembly.
♦For recess time, the same group will be used but separately.
♦All prefects will do their duty based on their group’s duty points although different
Recess times.
♦The duty section for recess will be given out on either Monday (11/1/2010) or
Tuesday (12/1/2010).
♦Prefects in charge of the block have only 5 minutes to clear the block.
♦After 5 minutes, each prefect in the team of the prefect shall receive the same
Penalty.
♦Prefects will receive minus 1 point for each minute after 5 minutes.
♦Prefects who duty in the canteen have only 10 minutes after the student’s recess is
over to eat.
♦No prefect can eat till all the students who have to go back to class are gone.
♦No prefect can eat till their entire team has gathered and reported to the respective
examiners.
♦The time for the prefects to eat is the time remaining after doing all the above.
♦A letter will be sent to the parents for those who get less than 20% in the 2nd test
compared to the first monthly test.
♦The 3rd test will be compared to the highest mark among the first 2 tests.
Example:
Prefect A get 50 marks in his/her English test in the 1st monthly test.
He then got an increment to 60 marks in English test in the 2nd monthly test.
Then, he gets 40 marks in the 3rd monthly test.
He has drop more than or equal to 20% from the HIGHEST mark.
Not from the first monthly test.
♦The minimum mark one can get is the passing mark.
♦It doesn’t matter how high the mark or how high the increase, if the prefect
failed the test, a letter will be sent to the parents.
♦The letter will be sent twice whereby on the 3rd time, the prefect will receive an
honourable certificate acknowledging his/her success in failing the exam.
♦This test checking system is not to check the average score of the prefect’s test.
It will take into account EVERY subject.
If you fail 3 subjects on the spot, you will receive the certificate.

♦Board members who receive < 80% of the points they can get will be out of the
board.
Prefects who receive < 70% of the points they can get will become probates
Probates who receive < 90% of the points they can get will NOT become a prefect.

♦Monthly fees will be collected by the team leader and will be passed to the treasurer.
Failure to pay by the 7th of the 1st month will result in RM1 and one point each for
each day missed (including Saturday and Sunday)

♦Since this is a new system implemented just this year, changes are unavoidable.
Please refer to the prefect’s notice board for any changes.

Hey peeps!
Just dropped by to wish all the Form5s good luck and all the best for their SPM tomorrow :D

Anyways,I know that it might be a walking nightmare, going through all this exams and stuff

Report on the football tournament today morning at 8.45 till 10+

Only 7 people out of 19 people from the list came.

Thanks to Karthik who showed up although you didn't register for this event.

None of the helpers came.

No news. No nothing.

So, back to the report, since only 8 of us were present, we decided to "challenge" the Form 2 students to a match.

They got first blood! But of course we won.

Then, we switched team and we all ended up all dirty from head to toe.

Some went flying in the mud, some just had no choice but to let the mud do as it wishes to themselves.

It was a fun morning aside from the amount of PREFECTS who signed up showed up.

So then, basketball is on Monday.

If the attendance will remain like this, I would most probably cancel badminton.

Thats all.

There is an inter-prefects sports tournament DIRECTLY after the exams are over.

The deadline for registering with ME --- your Assistant Head Prefect 2 2009/2010 session --- is this Wednesday (4th of November 2009).

The schedule of this event will be posted up after the deadline for registration.

Oh, there are 2 positions for the registration.

A participant for ALL or just any 1 of the sports event
Helper

You can join ALL the sports event or just 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 of them.

You can just register for a helper - helper's job is :

Preparing the drinks for paritcipants
Cheerleaders ! (its fun you know?)

And they will be the one helping out for the event after this inter-sports tournament.

Don't ask me what it is because I will not tell you about it till we are at the end of this event.

Oh, and the inter-prefects sports tournament will be help AFTER school.

We do not want some nosy people to butt into our fun now do we?

And, I need all participants including the helpers to be present in school starting from tomorrow (Monday, 2nd November 2009) till the end of this event.

I know our attendance (in school) is pretty devastating
Okay, I admit, its not 'pretty devastating' but VERY TERIBBLE
So..in order to at least take some effort to 'fix' this problem
One of our beloved teacher (to be precise, Mr.Chang) has told Kai Shin to tell us that ALL FORM3 PREFECTS must attend school

I know that this might seem troublesome, come to school got nothing to do etc. etc.
But come la, just come for the sake of pleasing Mr.Chang
His not that bad once you get to know him :)

Hello all,It's a bit too late,but hey you know what they say,

"Better late than never".

:) Due to certain problems and difficulties,this blog was left unattended for quite a long time.

So it's only natural that,it wasn't updated.

The Prefect Board ,like the title states,wishes everyone a

Objective : to hand over d board officially, its our tradition, to show off our striking blazer, to show off how smart v looked, to skip classes, final time to do sumthing 2gether for 2008/2009/2010 batch.................

p/s: another cekap performance fr perfects coz the installation date was confirmed 2 days b4 d event, n d rehearsal done in jz 2 period of class!)

well b4 i start, jz wanna show u guys how proud i feel, looking at all of u on dat very special day........

and as usual, anything dat prefects do, v ussually start off wif bombastic, grand, royal, entrance....

n thz to Rudra, v'd got everyone's faces here in dis video.
p/s: 1)due to d low audio quality, i had edit d sound, but d music dat i used is exactly d same music played on dat day so dat our dear viewer can feel d real situation of dat grand
event.
2) STAR prefects r so effective n pro dat dey walked wif speed of light (which is 3x10^-8m/s :p)....so i slow the video down by halfspeed...trust me, dey looked damn 'gaya' on dat day

n of coz without fail evry year, there is tie-giving ceremony ( which the prefects give back the tie dat dey had already got d day b4 installation, n get d tie bck on stage fr HM).....why dont dey jz giv us new tie or giv sumthing else....pity, loges n kaishin, not enuf time to wear d tie, end up looking so~~~~~~~....well u jz checked it out ur self.....

1 of d special thing v hv dis year is d "Guard of Honour" n "American Army-style flag folding ceremony"lol (where d seniors pass d prefectorial board flag to d new comittee as a symbol of handling over power).....i do hope dis will become our tradition....

n here i really wanna apologize to afew ppl: roy, yiting, sarah, ravi, eric n yinchye...for i'd shouted at u after d ceremony....actually u guys did a perfec job during practice, n dats y i hv high expectation on u n the whole event, but sumthing happened here n there n it jz cant b 100% anymore( mayb i m a lil fussy but dats me lol)....well i jz wanna tell evry1, these ppl here ( i mean all prefects) are 300% way better than wat u 'd seen in video...dont doubt their capability yeah!

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed this annual memorable event!

Wait, was it memorable?

Hmm....

Just so you guys know, this is the first event I help organised.

So, there are bound to have errors here and there.

I do hope YOU will come up to me and be outright about anything you are not satisfied with this event.

Like, let's say you don't like the food, just come up to me and say "What the heck man. The food sucks to the max." OR something like that.

Anyway, I will use this post to do the credits for this event (although Fawwaz already did it, let me complete it for him okay?) ^^

First up, thanks a lot to Logeswaran as the project manager for handling all the affairs with the teachers. Thanks to you, we get the the approval to run this event so fast. I'm really sorry for stepping in your job sometimes at that time. Do forgive me k? I promise I won't do it again!
Good luck and I'll always be at your back supporting you Mr. Head Prefect.

Second is to Kai Shin (assistant project manager). Honestly saying, your first impression sucks! I didn't really liked you when we first met (during the probation period). But after working with you and giving myself a chance to know you well, I think I kinda like you after all (not THAT like k? Don't misunderstand...) Thanks to you who is a worrywart to make sure this event run smoothly, everything DID run smoothly. Well, almost everything. And like I said to Loges, Good luck and I'll always be at your back supporting you Mrs (or Madame?) Timbalan 1.

Third of course goes to Lee Kiong (hall manager). Why do you always look so sleepy? Anyway, thanks to you, we got a place to run this event. Although many of us do NOT really agree with the place at KEC, you did MANAGED to book the place so fast. AND it was at a RM0 cost for the rent! BUT, the food sucks! Really sucks man! (Damn, I'm being too harsh on myself....)

And then, to Zhi Cong (assistant hall manager). Many people thinks you do nothing. Do not socialise and so on. Be warned people. This is one person you can say "Diam-diam ubi berisi diam-diam besi berkarat"! He is damn clever but crooked. You know-lah with people who are so clever. They tend to have a few lose screw here and there (just kidding!). But, he is a very socialable guy. That is, once you get to know him. Anyway, without you, we wouldn't have had the certificates for the seniors. Nor the proposal letter done and a lot of printing stuff and things here and there you contributed. Most of all, thanks to you for helping to make the event run smoothly.

Next goes to the 3 beautiful secretaries:

Thanks to all three of them, all the paperworks were done perfectly. Well, although some of the paperwork was done by Zhi Cong and myself due to the fact with some mistakes and we had to get it done immediately with none of you gals in sight, you guys did an amazing job with the paperworks! Thanks a lot!

It sure has been quite a long time since I've blogged.So,me being human,quickly forgot the basics of blogging.So if there are

It all started one day.One fine day on the way to school.Being a prefect,I had to come early everyday and I was getting bored of it.I asked my father who was driving,
"Dad,is it worth coming to school early in the morning everyday just cause I'm a prefect.I was thinking of quitting you know,the oomph's just not there anymore.The '7 co-curriculum marks' was the main reason I joined the prefectorial board,but you know,since I'm a runner and all I could easily acquire those points"I asked feeling as confident as ever.I've been getting warnings from the head prefects and I didn't like it.Stupidly,I decided that I wanted to quit.

However,Dad's answer shocked me.It made me THINK.He said calmly with a smile,"Son,I don't think you're being true to yourself.I still remember the days where you would come to me with your wide and cheery smile ,telling me how fun it was being a prefect.How proud you felt going around in that striking maroon blazer of yours.You loved everything about being a prefect.The job,the friends,the laughter,the hardships ,and of course,the scoldings.So, why the sudden change son?"

I didn't know what to say at first.But I replied anyway.I didn't want to sound like I wasn't sure of my decision to quit."No dad,it's tiring.And the head prefect keeps bugging me with all her stupid remarks on how I'm slacking la,this la ,that la.Besides,like I said,the excitement is gone la dad...No more fun,the board isn't how it used to be"I said in an arrogant manner.

Dad looked at me and smiled.He then said ,"Son,this 'oomph','excitement' or whatever it is...It's never gone.It's in you ,sleeping.It's never waking up if you continue to act this way.Yes,being a rebel,breaking the rules ,slacking off.While these things might shoot your popularity up it's never worth it.Believe me.Son,I WAS a TROUBLED person.An outcast.I broke the rules too many times.But one day,my discipline teacher,Mr Yheng came to me and offered me a place in the prefectorial bored of my school.Now,I hated prefects and I thought that,that would be a great way to teach those good-for -nothing people a lesson.And so I did join."Dad paused...

"Yeah dad.What happened next???"I asked eagerly.

Dad laughed.,"Well..Those 3 years being a prefect were the best days of my life.I changed as a person.From an outcast,I learned to socialize .I gained new friends.People began to laugh with me.They even began to call me their friend..And I'd be lying if I said that we had no troubled times.Times where we were all down and sad..But together ,we managed to pull through.I do know today is different from the yester-years but son...What's truly important is how YOU feel."

I couldn't take it anymore.Dad knew.I was sad.Heartbroken -really.See a week ago,I got into a fight and got suspended for it.Quitting was a way to show that the prefectorial board needed me.It was also a way to avoid being called the "School's dogs"...

We had then reached the school.Before saying goodbye to me he said.."Son...Remember,what people say or think don't matter.What YOU think does.Do the right thing kay?Remember ,don't slack off "

I walked through the school's gate with confidence.With the oomph I assumed I had lost.When it was time to gather I shouted "PREFECTS ASSEMBLE!!!"And as I counted down from 10 to 1 tears began cluttering ....
